Background

Chymotrypsin-C (CTRC) is also known as Caldecrin, CLCR, which belongs to the peptidase S1 family and elastase subfamily. CTRC preferential cleavage: Leu-|-Xaa, Tyr-|-Xaa, Phe-|-Xaa, Met-|-Xaa, Trp-|-Xaa, Gln-|-Xaa, Asn-|-Xaa. CTRC regulates activation and degradation of trypsinogens and procarboxypeptidases by targeting specific cleavage sites within their zymogen precursors. CTRC has chymotrypsin-type protease activity and hypocalcemic activity.
